Trackwork Project
Dromod to Clooncolry
We have completely re-laid the running line from the platform at Dromod station out towards Clooncolry. We are 100 metres away to reach the end of our current operating limits.
The track renewal is focusing on replacing expired sleepers with replacements and completely replacing dog spikes with screws on and clips the running line.
This has required much investment in screws, bolts and sleepers.

A lorry load of ballast will cost anywhere above €100, we need your help please donate what you can.

Loop and siding installation
Once the line is fully relaid and ballasted, we plan to install loops (run around loops) at either end of the running line at Dromod station and at Clooncolry.

We also plan to create a siding around the workshop to store out of use locos where they can undergo restoration as time and money permits.

We would like to thank local businesses Brady's Cavan, Padraig Flynn Plant Hire, Glenn McGowan Transport, Robinstown Haulage, Mark Cunningham, Gannon Hardware and David Blessington for their support over the years.
